Weight loss and maintenance goals become attainable when we fuel our bodies with a plant based diet.
Why is that? Fruits are easily digested and are what are known as "quick exit foods". Fruits leave the stomach in about 30 minutes, give or take, depending on the fruit.
As fruits are digested quickly, nutrients are absorbed and waste eliminated efficiently. No long break down processes, just available sugars for all of our desired activities.
Greens are a vital piece of a raw food diet. They contain nutrients imperative for optimal cell function. Eating salads with leafy greens as a base and lots of crunchy veggies provides the body with essential nutrients. Again, these foods are easily digested and nutrient assimilated.
Fueling our bodies with fruits and veggies provides excellent energy for all of our daily activities.
When we choose fresh fruits and vegetables, we truly can eat until we are no longer hungry. In addition we provide our bodies with clean, accessible nutrients.
No longer do we need to fear carbohydrates, or wonder if we are getting enough protein. Fruits and veggies naturally contain digestible and usable carbs, proteins and fats.
Be careful not to overload on nuts and seeds, avocado and oils. Many folks new to raw living load up on way too much fat and end up with serious health problems.
Following a plant based 80-10-10 diet (80% carbs, 10% protein, and 10% fat)will provide you with all the nutrition you need, energy, strength, and the body of your dreams.
