"Plank, One Of The Best Core Exercises"

Plank is one of the best core exercises you can blend into your ab workout. It is simple in design, yet challenging at any level.


Get Ready To Focus On Rock Hard Abs

Here you just need some space and a yoga mat, if desired.

  1. Lie face down on the floor or yoga mat.
  2. Place elbows directly under your shoulders, forearms directly forward from there.
  3. Get up on the balls of your feet, buttocks down as if you were doing a push up.
  4. Pull your belly button toward your spine and hold 10 to 20 seconds for starters.
    • If you are brand new to this exercise, start with 5 seconds.
    • Remember to breathe!!!
  5. Rest and repeat 10 times.
    • Do 2 to 3 sets of plank.

    If you want to bump this exercise up a level, place your elbows or feet on an exercise ball the other on the floor, a weight bench, or a step.

    If you are advanced, place your elbows and feet on exercise balls. This challenges your core stability which creates more stability in your everyday movements.
